George’s Newest Carving

My brother George was recently contacted by the Mayor of the City of Surrey do complete a carving for Prince Edward who was visiting Canada to hand out The Duke of Edinburgh Awards. The Prince’s visit to Surrey was kept real quiet due to security considerations however George was made aware of it about 3 weeks prior to the visit. As luck would have it he had already started a carving of a Mother Loon with a Baby Loon on it’s back. Brenda and I were fortunate enough to see the roughed out carving when George stopped by for a quick visit on his way home from 100 Mile House. This is the second carving that he has done for the City of Surrey; the first was a Killer Whale that was presented to a Chinese Delegation visiting the City.
