Hopefully that should be tomorrow sometime and then after that it will be sanding, finishing, etc. etc. Pictures are attached and you can start to see the size of the Main Bathroom and the Walk-in Closet…….. it’s going to be great.

Renovation Day #7
Not a whole bunch of activity today. The contractor stopped by to pick up another load of garbage and waste. I insulated some additional areas that were opened up and made an interesting discovery. The water line to the outside front tap was right against the stud and could have easily been damaged from a nail when doing the finishing mouldings. So, I shut off the water, drained the line and cut the pipe in the floor joists and removed the copper pipe and external tap. When the plumbers are back to complete all the hook ups we will have them install a new frost free type external tap. Finally all the gyproc board was delivered and inside for the drywallers to get started on Monday.

Renovation Day #6
Progress today was a little slower, but everything is certainly starting to take shape. A carpenter was back to prep the floor and wall areas for the installation of Gyproc Board and to strengthen and level the floor area in the walk-in closet. Sounds like the drywallers will be here on Saturday to get started, so next week we should see some real changes. Pictures to date are attached below.

Renovation Day #5
Today was Electrical Installation/Addition Day. The majority of the electrical work is complete and the electricians won’t be back until it’s time to do the final hook up of lights, heated floors, switches, etc. Today’s work included installation of new light switches and boxes in the main bathroom and walk-in closet, wiring for vent fan and the big job was running 240V for the installation of a heating pad for the travertine tile floors. We also had them wire a new plug-in for the T.V. and re-route the cable for the T.V. so we can do a wall mount for our flat panel LCD. The two guys we had working today were the very accommodating and work their tails off to get all the work completed in a short time! Pictures below.

Renovation Day#4
Lots of progress today. Plumbing is finished for now and the plumbers won’t be back until it’s time to install the Vanity Sink and Toilet. The drains are all in place, the ceiling in Walk-in Closet is framed in, the 1 piece tub installed and new insulation has been added on the external walls. We think the worst part of dust and demolition is behind us…………. well at least until the drywallers arrive! See pictures below.

It’s Been a While – Lots is Happening
Yes it has been a while since we have posted, well that is about to change. Golf has been pretty good, except for a couple days weather has been not bad to excellent and we have only been blown off the course (wind, rain, snow flakes) two days so far in October. We survived the recent cool spell (down to -9C) and I believe so did our sprinkler system; the sprinkler guy is coming early next week to blow it out for the winter season. Kevin and Tamara are settling in to family life with Sage and Conrad (the two cutest grand-kids in the world). They have started a major addition to their home and are adding a garage where the carport was. Unfortunately they have been without gas (so no heat and hot water) for over a week and it looks like it will be another week until Terasen gets it hooked up. Jeff and Lindsay are as busy as ever and Lindsay just finished a week long (more like a year long preparation) International conference hosted by Cybera on Grid Computing; it was a true International Event with conference delegates from around the world attending. We heard that she did an excellent job…. Way To Go Lindsay! Around here we have been busy with Curling season getting underway. Brenda is giving it try for a first time with the Thursday Ladies League; I know she will do real well. I am curling with Monday Seniors Select and will spare if I get calls. In other news we are starting a main bathroom renovation which will include adding a walk in closet in the master bedroom and we will also be painting pretty well the whole main level. We’ll provide updates and pictures as the work progresses!
