Zachary comes to Kamloops for a visit
Jeff, Lindsay and Zachary have a wedding to go to in Vancouver on January 2/11, so they decided to stop by for an overnight visit on their way down.
Zachary has really grown in the last couple weeks and according to his parents he changes everyday. He is a lot more alert and wide awake especially after feeding time. He is so darn cute and is starting to smile and recognize familiar people and objects. He makes some pretty funny faces as he attempts to focus his eyes, it’s interesting to watch. One of his favorite pastimes is being bounced by his Namma until he falls asleep!
Enjoy the pictures!

Another Day of Snowshoeing at Sun Peaks
We headed up to Sun Peaks this morning to go snowshoeing. It was sunny in Kamloops when we left however by the time we got to Hefley Creek at the start of the road up to Sun Peaks it was clouded over.
As we got closer to the Village it began to lightly snow and by the time we got the car parked and walked back to the Delta Hotel it was really snowing hard…….. kind of like ice pellets. Anyway over the next hour it came down pretty steady and we were covered as you will see by the pictures.
This was one of the busiest days we have seen for use of the Nordic Trails and also the Snowshoeing Trails. It was great to see so many people out enjoying the snow.

A Special Christmas in Princeton – 2010
This year we had a very special Christmas in Princeton with Kevin, Tamara, Sage and Conrad………and of course the menagerie of animals. In years past Christmas has been in Kamloops which of course required them to travel here, which was always appreciated, however we knew it was also a lot of work for all of them to pack up presents, kids, clothes, dog, etc. etc. and make the trip here. It certainly was a lot easier for us to pack up and head to Princeton.
To get a second chance to see Christmas through the eyes of a 5 and 2 1/2 year old was truly special…….. how soon we have forgotten our own sons and their excitement at that age!!!!!!
Anyway, we drove down on Thursday and had a great dinner and visit that evening. Friday we headed outside for some sledding and to see the snow fort that Dad and the kids had built. After lunch Conrad climbed up with Pops in the Lazy Boy and had about a 2 hour nap…… although if you ask him he would not admit that he had slept. Christmas Eve we got to see Sage and Conrad hang a “Magic Key” on the door so Santa could get into the house and they also left a plate with cookies and milk for Santa and carrots and water for the Reindeer…… what fun!
Well Santa arrived and left lots of presents. Sage got to wear the Santa hat to hand out presents as she found the special Christmas Pickle that was hung on the tree. She did a great job making sure everyone had a present and she was very patient waiting to open her own. However, there was a bit of break when she thought all presents had been handed out and she took the Santa Hat off for a couple minutes. Well, as quick as a flash Conrad put on the Santa Hat and retrieved the one last present from under the tree.
Tamara was a tremendous host and made sure that any thought of dieting at Christmas was thrown out the door. She had trays and containers full of Christmas baking………….. all delicious. Christmas dinner was outstanding, with Turkey, Stuffing, Gravy, Potatoes, Brussels Sprouts, Sweet Potato and Apple Casserole, Buns, etc. etc. etc. Dessert was Chocolate Cups with Cream Cheese and Cherry Topping; they were fairly small so it was easy to eat a few and then a couple more just in case.
A truly special Christmas!

First Day of Snow-Shoeing 2010 Winter Season
On Sunday Dec 19/10 we went snow-shoeing up at Sun Peaks for the first time this winter season.
Weather was not too bad; it was about -6C when we started and and as we got going the sun came out for a few minutes, however within a half hour it clouded over. We were pleasantly surprised by the amount of snow so early in this season; you’ll see how covered the trees are! Beautiful! This is at the base of the Mountain and there is a lot more snow up top!
Usually we are the only ones out on the trails and just occasionally see other snow-shoers. However today we ran into 3 different groups of people out snow-shoeing. One group was quite large; about 10 people.
The highlight of the day was watching (from a distance) the dog sled team being hitched up and then talking off on the cross country trails. This consisted of lots of barking, jumping, yelping and then once they got going they shut right up and ran like the wind. It’s too bad the pictures are from such a distance, but you get the idea from the photos attached….. Enjoy!

Pre-Christmas Visit to Kelowna
On Thursday morning we headed down to Kelowna for a pre-Christmas visit to see Zachary (Oh! Ya; and his parents). Had a great dinner with Jeff and Lindsay and had all sorts of time to hold baby Zachary, which even gave his Mom and Dad a chance to run downtown to do a few errands.
Little baby Zachary is now 5 weeks old and growing really fast. Obviously the feeding machine (a.k.a. Mom) has got some real high quality milk because the little guy is really bulking up. There are a couple pictures that show the change. The first one is from our visit when he was 1 week old and a similar shot from this recent visit; you can really see how much he has grown from looking at the difference in size against the couch seat.
Some extra special pictures of Zachary are attached of him wearing his Santa outfit that Aunty Tamara and Uncle Kevin gave him when they visited……… adorable EH!
We are pretty blessed and lucky Grandparents. All of our grand children are very special.

Front Page Picture Update – Happy B’Day Jeff
You have probably noticed that the picture(s) at the start of our Blog has been updated; in fact it changes randomly each time you sign on to our web site.
Thanks to Jeff and his computer wizardry we have pictures from our Holland trip and our visit to the Keukenoff as our opening view…….. amazing pic’s EH!
So how did Jeff do it? Well it started by him getting me to download FileZilla (whatever that is) and then after he was finished cooking dinner he got into the set up portion which involved computer stuff way above my head. Anyway, in the end the changes are pretty cool…… don’t ya think?
HAPPY BIRTHDAY JEFF – on the Sunday after our visit to Princeton We drove over to Kelowna and lucky for us we were to be able to celebrate Jeff’s 32nd birthday. Jeff cooked some steaks and zucchini on the bar-b-que with potatoes from the oven and it was a great birthday dinner.
Baby Zachary was so precious to hold and was an absolute angel while we visited. Pictures are attached.
