After 3 nights in downtown Auckland we headed back to the airport to stay one night before we began the long trek home.
We extended our hotel stay to a 12 noon check out, checked our bags with the front desk and headed off on a walk to a nearby shopping plaza for a lunch and to kill some time.
Around 4:00 pm we caught the shuttle to the airport, got our boarding passes and our luggage checked in. From there we headed to the Air New Zealand lounge for a drink and some food.
Our plane departed on time at 8:30 pm, the flight time was 13+ hrs and we arrived in Vancouver at 1:30 pm, which was before we left New Zealand thanks to the International Date Line.
We then had a 4 hr layover before boarding the airplane to Kamloops.
we arrived home by about 7:30 pm and were exhausted.
What an adventure and what a trip!
