Day Trip to Merritt
On Monday we had a day trip to Merritt to visit the grand kids…… oh ya and see the parents as well! Great Gramma and Great Grampa came along and it was a great day. We met the Princeton group at the Merritt Aquatic Center; it’s a favorite spot for the kids, lots to do and burn off some of that boundless energy. After the swim we headed off for lunch. Pictures are attached.

More Pictures from Princeton
Following Easter we stayed in Princeton for a couple extra days. It gave us a great opportunity to spend some fun time time with the grand-kids, plus it allowed Kevin and Tamara to head off to Penticton to have some quality time togther and to get some stuff done that is easier without kids. We had a blast and they certainly kept us hopping! Attached are a few pictures.

Easter in Princeton
Easter Sunday we drove down to Princeton to spend Easter weekend with the Grand-kids, Kevin and Tamara. It was a good trip, the roads were bare all the way and it was sunny day which always makes the drive more enjoyable. We arrived just in time for the Easter Egg Hunt. The Easter Bunny was very busy this year and all sorts of treats were hidden in the yard. The kids had their special Easter egg buckets and the hunt was on………… in the end the treats were divided equally and everyone got their fair share of chocolate. They also got some small Easter presents from us and great gramma and great grampa. Pictures are attached.

Happy Birthday Conrad
Our grandson Conrad turned 2 years old today. His Mom & Dad organized a big party with lots of friends, games, treats and food. There was a scavenger hunt, many multi-colored balloons, a pinata, lots of pizza and of course Happy Birthday was sung as the ice cream cake was brought out with two candles on it. Pictures are below.

Happy 87th Birthday – Grampa
Happy 87th Birthday Dad!
Wow, we all hope to be as active and lively and full of life when we reach that age. There is definitely no dust under your shoes……… or if there is it is because you haven’t been keeping up with your daily vacuum duty! HA! HA! Let’s see…… a daily walk, volunteering with the Red Cross, playing trumpet in the Rube Band, golfing, regular coffee with friends, weekly church outings (including breakfast), trying to keep up with Gramma; must be the daily bowl of porridge is your secret to a long active life. We wish you many, many more! Love Brenda and Larry. p.s. Enjoy your day

Sun Peaks Family Ski Vacation
We have just returned from a Family Ski Vacation at Sun Peaks. This year we rented a larger condo from Allura Direct. It was located in Trails Edge area which was closer the the Main Village. This condo had 3 levels, three bedrooms, 4 bathrooms, a large rec room with a pull-out queen bed, an eight person hot tub, etc. etc. Kevin, Jeff and Lindsay went skiing both days and Brenda, Tamara, Sage, Conrad and I took a walk each day to the Village; which included a stop at the candy store. On the second day we all went tubing in the late afternoon. The tube ride had a carpet lift that took you to the top and from there they had two runs; one fast and one faster….. just guess which one our little speed demon Sage wanted to go on all the time? The last night Kevin, Tamara, Jeff and Lindsay took Sage and Conrad swimming at the Village Rec Center Pool; which is a heated saltwater indoor/outdoor pool. Each evening ended with a family soak in the hot tub it was a fun time for everyone. Like last year we ate too much, had food leftover and had a great time with the kids and grand-kids. Pictures are attached.

Christmas 2009
Time to get an update on our blog. Christmas started early for us. Kevin, Tamara, Sage and Conrad arrived on Dec 21/09 and it was great to see them. The weather held and road conditions were not too bad for winter travel. Them arriving a few days before Christmas allowed us to take the grand-kids to do some fun and exciting activities. Over the Christmas period they went swimming 3 times at the Canada Games Pool and also went bowling at Bowlertime. So lots of fun was had by everyone. Unfortunately Sage had a touch of the flu just before they left home in Princeton which was of course passed on to Conrad and the little guy was sick for a couple days while he was here. The bug must have been somewhere in the house because Brenda and Kevin both came down with it on Christmas Night right after dinner. Then Tamara became sick a couple days later, just before they headed off to Vernon to celebrate Christmas with Tamara’s family and friends. For Christmas dinner we had a house full which included Great Gramma and Grampa, Dean and Judy (Brenda’s brother and his wife), their son Blake and his girlfriend Trish and their daughter Sabrina. It was a great dinner and a great family evening; except for Brenda and Kevin being ill. Pictures are attached from the Christmas week.

Princeton Visit in December
On Tuesday of this week we headed off to Princeton for a couple days with the Grand-Kids…………. oh ya! we also visited with the parents. Actually we went down to look after Sage and Conrad so Kevin and Tamara could go to the Weyerhaeuser Adult Christmas Party. We had a lot of fun playing with the kids; we also got to see Sage at her Highland Dance dress rehearsal for the Thursday Christmas Concert at the Princeton Fine Arts Theatre. On Wednesday morning, while mom and dad were sleeping in, we took the kids to “Strong Start” at “John Allison Elementary”. It was so great to see them learning new things and playing with other kids. This school district program is amazing; the kids really get a chance to learn new things, do projects, interact with other kids and it’s all in a place where theycan do whatever they want….. so very few rules and lots of learning. Pictures are attached from our Princeton visit.

Happy 4th Birthday – Sage
November 25th was Sage’s 4th Birthday. However, the party really started on Tuesday night right after Kevin, Tamara, Sage and Conrad arrived from Princeton. Donna and Tricia stopped by for dinner and of course there were presents for Sage and Conrad. It was a great night and a few pictures are attached.
On Sage’s birthday (Wednesday) right after breakfast we headed off to Falcon Lanes for Bowling. It was a first time for Sage and Conrad and they both did very well……….. in fact Conrad beat his Mom in his first game. Kevin scored the best with an even 200 and Brenda beat me by 20 points. Later that evening Great Gramma and Great Grampa came for dinner. The pizza was delicious, there was lots of cake and of course lots of presents were opened and fun was had by everyone….. pictures attached!
