“Lindsay and Grampa Rock Band”
Well it’s no longer a secret. We’ve started a Rock Band and it’s called “Lindsay and Grampa Rock Band”. Attached are pictures from our media kick off and just click on this link to hear our 1st Big Release Hit Single. The video quality isn’t the greatest as we are just starting out and on a pretty low budget. However the music is excellent, especially Lindsay on lead guitar. Now, some of you may say that this sounds and looks like another somewhat famous band, but we are currently in negotiations to get rightful ownership of this song. We’ll keep you all posted, until then……. WE ARE HITTING THE ROAD!!!!!!!!

A Day at Sun Peaks
This post is a little late, but what the heck. Anyway, Jeff and Lindsay had decided to go snowboarding at Sun Peaks as part of their visit to Kamloops at Christmas. So, Brenda and I tagged along and took our new snowshoes for a day in the snow. Once we arrived and got dressed etc. we left Jeff and Lindsay at Bento Day Lodge with plans to meet up around lunch. At the start it was pretty cool as there was a bit of wind. As the day went on the conditions improved and snow shoeing was excellent. Lots of snow and well tracked trails, the sun even peaked out for a bit (no pun intended). Brenda and I took the opportunity to search out the Condo we have rented at the end of February for a family ski vacation, more on that after the vacation. We did have a picture taken (with our phone camera) along the trails by a passing couple, however I forgot to save it prior to closing the phone. Our new snow shoes are great, they fit well, track well and are easy to use.
As far as snowboarding, Jeff and Lindsay had a great day on the slopes. The weather warmed up as the day went along and after lunch there was 3″ to 4″ of new snow. They were pretty wiped at the end of the day, but we managed to capture a phone picture, this time I saved it.

Christmas – It’s All About Family
That about sums up Christmas for us! We were so fortunate this year to have both our boys and their significant others and grand-kids all home for Christmas. Every time we’re together as a family we consider ourselves very lucky as we know that it cannot happen every year. A couple big events from this Christmas were Kevin and Tamara announcing their engagement. The wedding date will be 09-18-09 (September 18, 2009)………… you guessed it; that way it’s easier for Kevin to remember, the first and last numbers add up to the day. The second big surprise was that our nephew Blake made it home for Christmas from Fernie B.C. Now Fernie is far enough of a drive at this time of the year with those roads and mountain passes by itself; however Blake dropped off his girlfriend at her parents home in Valemont. So they drove from Fernie to Calgary to Edmonton, over to Hinton and down to Valemont, then Blake continued on to Kamloops on Christmas morning. Take a look at the link to the B.C. Alberta Map. He reverses the trip a few days after Christmas. So, with all the family here we were able to get a great family picture. This was accompanied by the usual complaining about taking too long to get set up, Grampa Paparazzi, etc. etc. This was also such a special Christmas as we were also able to experience Christmas through the eyes of a 3 year old, this time as grandparents. When we were parents we were too busy trying to keep the situation under control and we know that we missed a lot. Both grand-kids had a great Christmas and were a delight to have. Jeff and Lindsay are the grand-kids new BFF (Best Friends Forever) and they were real troopers when Sage insisted on getting them up at before 8:00 a.m. to “go play toys”, painting Lindsay’s fingers and toes or playing on their computers. Anyway, attached are a few pictures, so enjoy; Brenda and I certainly did. MERRY CHRISTMAS!

“Happy Birthday” – TAMARA
Today is Tamara’s birthday. Tamara is Kevin’s girlfriend, lover, significant other (I’m not sure what is politically correct these days). Just as important, she is the mother of Sage and Conrad. We aren’t going to tell you how many years old she is but……. she is younger than Kevin and older that Jeff!

Last Tuesday was SAGE”S 3rd BIRTHDAY. YAAAAAA! Actually, she had a party on Sunday with some friends from pre-school and from all reports everyone had a great time. Then Brenda and I drove down last Monday for her actual birthday which was Tuesday Nov 25th. We had a great time and are thankful that we were involved and there for such a big celebration, Sage received a lot of very nice presents from friends and relations and she had a great time. I’ve attached a few pictures of the big day.

A Visit to Princeton
Well we no sooner got back from Calgary and we were headed off to Princeton. Kevin and Tamara had tickets to see Lenny Kravitz in Kelowna and and hooked up with her brother Gene and his wife Tonya. They had a great time before and after the concert, but they said the concert was not that good. Even though they do enjoy some of his music he definitely wasn’t in the mood the night he performed in Kelowna. Oh Well! It gave them a night away and some valuable time together.
As far as Brenda and I, we had a great time with the grand kids. Sage and Conrad were very well behaved and kept us hopping from the time we showed up. Of course no trip or weblog is complete without some “cutest little grand kids in the world” pictures.

Calgary Update
Last night we celebrated Halloween and “30 Days till Jeff’s 30th Birthday. It was a fun time and a lot of laughs. It’s great to be included as a part of Jeff and Lindsay’s friends. Lindsay usually has a scavenger hunt for Jeff on his birthday, however this year she out did herself. This year she took a 30 piece puzzle and one of her friends pasted a photo on the front of Jeff playing Ulimate. Lindsay then wrote a birthday message to Jeff on the back. After that she divided up the puzzle pieces and handed them out to everyone at the party. In order for Jeff to get a puzzle piece he had to do something as determined by the puzzle piece holder. What happens at the party stays at the party……… trust me he had a lot of different things to do to get the pieces. In the end he got 28 pieces, assembled the puzzle and read the message on the back. There are still two pieces left to complete the puzzle and let him know what his 30th birthday present will be. Lindsay is going to make sure he gets those two pieces on November 29th.

Calgary Visit
Wednesday we drove out to Calgary to visit Jeff and Lindsay. It’s great to get out to see them. Of course this weekend is Halloween and Friday October 31/08 it is exactly 30 days till Jeff turns 30. So Lindsay is throwing a big party for Jeff and the theme is “30 Days till Jeff turns 30” and there are about 35 people attending, so pictures will posted once we get home. I’ll provide updates through out the weekend, if I can find a spare computer.
Last night we had dinner at “The Broken Plate” a real neat Greek Restaurant near where Jeff and Lindsay live. It’s the restaurant where we had the pre-wedding dinner for family at Jeff and Lindsay Wedding in 2007. For special events the staff bring the guests a china plate that they toss onto a tiled/cement area and when the plate breaks everyone yells ‘Opa”! Food was delicious and it was a great night out!
